| Hi ##firstname##!
Only two more weeks until the first Sports Tech Research & Innovation Summit kicks off in our hometown, Ghent. The event preparations are in full swing and we’re more than excited to welcome you all here. If you’re curious about the other speakers and their topics, take a look at the Summit program.
A few practicalities:
- We’ll be hosting our event in WATT The Firms, not to be confused with WATT Factory, which is located at the other side of the park. You can find detailed directions to the event venue on our travel page, as well as various info on accomodation and transportation.
- You will be briefed about the location of your panel/presentation a few days before the Summit. We ask all our speakers to be present at the location of their panel/presentation 15 min before it starts, and someone from the STRN team will guide you to this location and assist you with the set-up of your presentation.
- If you are bringing your own slideshow, please bring your own laptop and make sure you can connect with a hdmi port. We want to avoid issues with slide design, video and sound which often happen when presentations are sent over email or dropped somewhere in a folder.
Conversation Starter
We hope you can find value in attending the event, both as a speaker or panelist and as a participant. As you can see in the program, we have mostly chosen for interactive sessions. We've also foreseen enough time for group and 1-on-1 interactions. The Conversation Starter tool is there to facilitate the latter type of meetings. You should have received an invitation to this tool by email, please let us know if that is not the case. We strongly encourage you to create your profile and to start sending invitations for meetings.
Breakout sessions & Sport Science Laboratory visit
We ask all Summit attendees to register for the breakout sessions they want to follow. You can do so through this registration form (thank you to those who have already done this!). To be able to see and fill out the form, you need to be logged in with your STRN account. If you don’t have an STRN account yet, you can create one through the website (takes 1 min).
In that same registration form you can sign up for the first Summit activity: the evening before the event (Tuesday 13th), you can join us for an exclusive visit at the Sport Science Laboratory - Jacques Rogge at Ghent University. The facility infrastructure is divided in two main sections: one is reserved for Exercise Physiology and one for Biomechanics and Motor Control of Human Movement. The research team is happy to show you around, explain their ongoing work and meet up for a drink afterwards in the sports bar next door.
If there is anything else we could help you with in order to have a good time in Ghent, just leave a message here.
Looking forward to meeting you!
Kind regards,
Merel from the STRN team | |
