Have you registered for the breakout sessions yet? ✍️

Hi ##firstname##!

The final countdown to the first Sports Tech Research & Innovation Summit has officially begun! And: we’re very happy to share that as of today, the event is completely sold out!

Don’t forget to register for the breakout sessions please!
We want to remind you that you need to register for the breakout sessions you want to follow. Why? For practical reasons related to the size of the different rooms at the venue.

You can do so through this registration form (thank you to those who have already done this!). To be able to see and fill out the form, you need to be logged in with your STRN account. Only those who have registered are sure of their seat during the breakout sessions!

Good to know: after the Summit we will ask all speakers to send us their final presentations so we can share them with you. Choose your sessions wisely, however, as the emphasis is on the interactivity part.

Sports Science Laboratory visit
If you're already in Ghent on Tuesday evening (13 Sept), you can join us for an exclusive visit at the Sport Science Laboratory - Jacques Rogge at Ghent University.

This facility is divided in two main sections: one is reserved for Exercise Physiology and one for Biomechanics and Motor Control of Human Movement. The research team is happy to show you around, explain their ongoing work and meet up for a drink afterwards in the sports bar next door (not at 'Kantien' as communicated earlier).

Registration for the Laboratory visit is mandatory too, and can be done through the same registration form as the breakout sessions.

The tour will start at 7:30 PM at the Sport Science Laboratory - Jacques Rogge. Address: Watersportlaan 2, 9000 Ghent. We'll meet a few minutes before at the main entrance of the Department of Movement and Sports Sciences (same address), which looks like this.

Conversation Starter
As you can see in the program, we have chosen to place a strong emphasis on group interaction during the sessions. We've also foreseen enough room for 1-on-1 interactions.

This is where Conversation Starter comes in handy: it is a tool that helps facilitate these types of meetings. You should have received an invitation email to this tool by now, please let us know if that is not the case. We strongly encourage you to create your profile and to start sending invitations for meetings.

The venue
The Summit takes place at WATT The Firms, not to be confused with WATT Factory, which is located at the other side of the park! You can find detailed directions to the event venue on our travel page, as well as various info on accomodation and transportation

Inside the venue, there will be a space where you can relax, enjoy some quiet time, check your mails, charge your phone,… So you can be fully focused during the panels, keynotes and breakout sessions.

Breakfast and lunch are served during the corresponding break times (as stated in the program), water and coffee will be available all day long. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know asap here so we can notify the catering service.

We would also like to remind you that your invoice must be paid before the start of the event!

Finally, we are happy to share some images of Ghent and WATT The Firms, in order to give you a quick visual impression of the city and the venue.

We're so glad you're a part of this and we look forward to seeing you next week!

Kind regards,

Merel & the full STRN team
